The Health Benefits of Drinking a Mango Smoothie

Mango

Mangos have a high concentration of carotenoids, antioxidant nutrients and various phytochemicals. Mangos also contain many enzymes to help aid and improve digestion.

Fun fact: mangos were actually often used in tropical countries as a meat tenderiser since its powerful proteolytic enzymes help break down proteins.

Mangos are also high in iron! Great for the young woman out there going through pregnancy or menstruation!

Vanilla Essence

Natural vanilla extract contains numerous antioxidants, including vanillic acid and vanillin. These antioxidants protect your body from damage from harmful components, such as free radicals and toxins.

Vanilla essence also protects us from inflammation and may lower cholesterol. It contains many minerals and vitamins for general wellbeing.

Maple Syrup

Pure maple syrup contains many nutrients including zinc, potassium, manganese, thiamine, calcium, iron, magnesium, and riboflavin. It contains less fructose than honey, dates or agave.

Kefir Yoghurt

Kefir is a cultured, fermented milk drink that contains a broad range of beneficial bacteria and yeasts, which work together to support the growth of important beneficial bacteria in the intestinal tract.

It is a much more potent source of probiotics than other fermented dairy products such as yoghurt, and is full of natural vitamins and minerals.

Kefir is easily digested and is well tolerated by people with lactose intolerance as it contains lactase, the enzyme that breaks down lactose.

You can also use regular yoghurt or other plant-based yoghurts in the smoothies.
